This made me laugh out loud. I mispronounced epitome until I was 40 but fortunately it’s become something of a family joke and we all say it wrongly now.

Sometimes my 15 year old talks about the time she farted in 1st grade and everyone immediately knew because she burst into tears and I think, β€œJesus Christ, we’re still doing this?!” Then her dad talks about the time he farted in a junior high assembly and got in trouble for it because the principal thought he was doing it as a bit. And the great wheels turns…
